With a large gradient on the backland site, the challenge was to create a semi-submerged dwelling house with the least visual impact from the neighbouring properties. The result was a proposal that appeared to emerge from the ground as an organic grassy knoll, whilst still providing three bedrooms and adequate light into all rooms
